What is next for Delta?

Delta Goodrem is now a household name and with a well-publicised cancer battle behind her we find out what the future holds for the pop princess.

Her Australian tour was a sell out and on the last night Delta invited Today Tonight in for a chat.

With various endorsements like So Good Milk, Nintendo Wii and now, Sunsilk Hair Care, Delta is a busy girl.

The Sunsilk deal is just another part of Delta’s skyrocketing career, a career that has endured a long and very public battle with cancer.

“I did go through a big identity change at 19 as many people have gone though in your body and your physicality, you look different, your hair changes and all those things,” Delta said.

“I said to myself I will never complain about a bad hair day ever again.”

Luckily for Delta’s fiance, singer Brian McFadden, she not only has a sense of humour but she appreciates his too.

“I’m actually funnier than him,” she, with tongue firmly in cheek.

“I think I’m just a little bit more reserved on camera maybe.”

Due to marry later this year, Delta said Brian’s sense of humour is what attracted her to him in the first place.

“He’s very funny, he’s very quick-witted, we’ve both learnt a lot of each other,” she said.

In addition to planning the wedding, Delta has been working on cracking the lucrative US market.

“I feel it’s been really positive, it has been nice to hear my music on the radio and wake up and see the song,” she said.

So what is next for Delta?

“Making an album,” she said.

“I don’t know what is in store for me this year but I’m looking forward to whatever it holds.”

With album sales of 3.5 million worldwide, Delta is looking to add to that impressive figure.

For the rest of the year she will be focusing on writing and recording new material for her fourth album.

As part of her continued crack on the US and UK markets, she will also travel around holding a series of one-off concert performances.
